About this tour

AlamKouh is the Iranian Alps! After Damavand Mountain, AlamKouh is the second highest mountain in Iran with 4850m. It is located in western wing of Alborz Mountain Range, 185km northwest of Tehran. Astonishing landscapes, numerous rivers, and ice walls make this mountain unique in the country.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Tehran

Having arrived at Imam Khomeini Airport, we will be greeted and welcomed by our tour guide. Then, we will be transferred to hotel.

Day 2 - Half day city tour of Tehran

Half day city tour of Tehran to visit Golestan Palace, the only world heritage site in Tehran. This old palace is one of first buildings constructed in Tehran and it is full of stories about the contemporary history of Iran, particularly from Qajar to Pahlavi dynasties. Then, we drive on to KELARDASHT, in MAZANDARAN Province, via one of the most scenic roads in Iran, i.e Chalous Road.

Day 3 - Climbing to Hesar chal Camp

In the morning, we move out towards Roudbarak and Vandarbon, rural areas with wonderful landscapes and breathtaking nature. We use 4WD vehicles to get to scenic valley of Tang-e Galou. From there on, we start climbing to get to Hesar Chal Camp at 4100 altitude at the proximity of Hesarchal Lake.

Day 4 - Attempting the Peak

Today, we attempt the 4850m peak of Alam Kouh. It is the second highest peak in Iran after Damavand Mountain. The peak is famous for its northern wall making it a perfect place for rock climbing in Iran.Having touched the peak and experienced the view, we climb down to the Hesarchal Camp.

Day 5 - Climbing down and Driving to Tehran

Today, we have a hill and forest trekking to get down to Tang-e Galou. Then, we get on our 4WD vehicles to drive back to Vandarbon and then drive on to Tehran.

Day 6 - Transfer to Airport & Fly back Home

Transfer to airport and fly back home!
